DR. JAMES GOLD
Dr. Gold received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University in 1986. He then did a Post-Doc in Clinical Neuropsychology at Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Division. After, he moved to the NIMH Intramural Research Program where the schizophrenia research program was based at the NIMH Neuropsychiatric Research Hospital, then at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington DC. He moved to the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center in 1995.
DR. SONIA BANSAL
Sonia completed her PhD. in Neuroscience at George Mason University under mentorship of Dr. Wilsaan Joiner(Sensorimotor Integration Research Lab), in collaboration with Dr. Barbara Schwartz(Washington DC VA Medical Center) studying predictive mechanism-related sensorimotor behavior in schizophrenia. Her research is focused on understanding mechanisms underlying psychotic symptoms as well as cognitive deficits in schizophrenia.
DR. ADAM CULBRETH
Adam is a post-doctoral fellow working with Drs. James Waltz and James Gold. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis under the mentorship of Dr. Deanna Barch. His research interests focus on the etiology of negative symptoms in people with schizophrenia.



SHARON AUGUST
Sharon graduated from Cornell University in 1985 and has been working for the CANS Gold lab since 2002.
BEN ROBINSON

Ben graduated from American University in 2000 with a degree in Psychology. Ben began working as a research specialist in the CANS lab since 2002.
LEEKA HUBZIN
Leeka studied clinical psychology at Loyola University of Maryland and graduated in 2009. She has been a part of the CANS lab since 2009.



JENNA DUTTERER
Jenna has been a part of the CANS lab since 2017. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Biopsychology and Public Health from UMBC.
SAFA RIAZ
Safa joined the lab as an undergraduate intern and has recently graduated from UMBC with degrees in Biology and Psychology.
